June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month
“Let’s stand together. Let’s lead with compassion. Let’s partner to protect.”
— Kez Wold, APS Associate Commissioner

Sample pictureEach June, we recognize Elder Abuse Awareness Month—a time to raise awareness about the often hidden challenges of abuse, neglect, and exploitation affecting older adults and people with disabilities. In his June 2025 message, Kez reminds us that awareness is the first step toward prevention. Abuse can happen quietly, but with knowledge, compassion, and action, we can bring it to light and help stop it.

How you can help:

  • Learn the signs of elder abuse
  • Check in on vulnerable friends, neighbors, or family members
  • Speak up if something seems off
  • Share this message with others

“Every call, every act of kindness, every effort to check in on someone who may be vulnerable matters.” — Kez Wold

Together, we can make our communities safer and more compassionate for those most in need.
