Antidepressants

Antidepressants are used in children to treat symptoms of depression and other conditions.

Symptoms of depression may include:

  • Feelings of hopelessness or helplessness
  • Loss of energy
  • Changes in appetite
  • Weight gain or weight loss
  • Not being able to enjoy activities the child used to enjoy
  • Thoughts of suicide
