Antipsychotics may be used to treat a number of conditions in children, including:
- Psychosis
- Bipolar disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Autism
- Tourette's syndrome
- Severe aggression
Antipsychotics are divided into two groups:
- Atypical (or second generation) antipsychotics were first developed in 1994.
- Typical (or first generation) antipsychotics were first developed in 1950.
