What We Do
Protective Services (CPS) works to strengthen and stabilize families so that they can safely care for their children at home. When that is not possible, CPS works with the courts and communities to find permanent homes or other places for children to live. CPS works to ensure appropriate placements for children and comprehensive services for families in an effort to stabilize and reunite families when possible.
On September 1, 2017, the investigative function of CPS transferred to the new Child Protective Investigations program.
