Volunteers
Volunteers play a critical role in supporting our mission and assisting our families. The number of trained DFPS volunteers increased by 21 percent in FY 2019. More than 4,200 trained volunteers and 329 volunteer groups worked with DFPS to help children, families, and older adults. Examples of volunteer activities include sitting in the hospital with sick children, answering phones for the Texas Youth Hotline, and organizing emergency resource rooms.
