Kaysie Taccetta is the Deputy Commissioner for Children and Family Programs. She has more than 25 years of child protection experience with DFPS. She was named in the Deputy role in January 2026.
Prior to her appointment to Deputy Commissioner, Taccetta led the development, implementation, and statewide rollout of Texas Child-Centered Care (T3C). She also played a key leadership role in the design and early implementation of Community-Based Care. Kaysie began her career as a frontline caseworker and supervisor, with experience across investigations, conservatorship, family reunification and preservation, adoption, courtesy supervision, and child placement. Through her progressive roles with DFPS, she has provided statewide leadership in policy development, program oversight, federal funding, and large-scale system transformation.
Taccetta holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from The University of Texas at El Paso.
