No. While an internship can fulfill an official curriculum requirement, it does not have to.

Does DFPS require an Affiliation Agreement with universities?

DFPS does not require an affiliation agreement or memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a college or university. If the educational institution requires one, DFPS has a process in place for completion.

When is the best time to apply for an internship?

New internship postings are listed two months before the start of each semester. It is recommended to get your application in as early as possible, as positions can fill quickly.

Am I guaranteed a job with DFPS after I complete my internship?

No, you are not guaranteed a job after the completion of your internship. But you are encouraged to apply for positions at the Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) Jobs Center, where openings are posted for DFPS and other HHS agencies.
