Communicating ARIF Determinations to Child Care Regulations
Communicating ARIF Determinations to Child Care Regulations (PATS 13002)
DFPS Child Care Investigations (CCI) is adding policy related to HHSC Child Care Regulations (CCR), formerly known as Child Care Licensing. The new policy describes the following:
- CCR uses investigation findings from CCI to assist in its regulatory actions when CCI makes abuse, neglect, or exploitation findings. If an administrative review of investigation findings (ARIF) is held regarding a CCI finding, CCR is notified of the finding being overturned.
- CCR agrees to communicate with CCI if it considers overturning a regulatory citation related to a CCI finding.
See:

7717.3 Notifying Child Care Licensing When the Administrative Review Overturns or Changes the Investigation Finding
PN Screening Procedures (PATS 12967)
This update revises current policies and procedures related to specific scenarios when it is not appropriate for CCI to conduct or complete an investigation. This revision:
- Clarifies the role of the SWI RCCI Screening Unit in making the final determination for when an RCCI intake report may be reclassified as a Priority None (PN).
- Specifies the situations in which Administrative Closure may be appropriately used as an allegation disposition.
