This handbook revision updates policy about working with HHSC Child Care Regulation to complete a Risk Assessment.

Preparing for the Investigation (PATS 14197)
This handbook revision does the following:
- Updates policy on actions the investigator takes to prepare for the investigation.
- Aligns policy on background checks with updates from House Bill 4123 (88th Texas Legislature, Regular Session) and with current agency practice.
- Updates policy on risk assessments to reflect new agreements between DFPS CCI and HHSC Child Care Regulation and to align with current practice.
