Dissolved Intercountry Adoptions (PATS 3282)
When a child who was involved in an international adoption enters DFPS conservatorship as a result of the court terminating parental rights or the parents relinquishing their rights to the child, the worker must select the removal characteristics of Previously Adopted and Terminated International Adoption for the child. Selecting these characteristics is required whether the full and final adoption occurred in the foreign country or domestically.
CPS staff were previously informed of this policy with the issuance of PSA 07-122 on May 21, 2007.
