These revisions of the Child Protective Services Handbook were published on April 12, 2021.
On September 1, 2017, the investigations branch of CPS became a separate division named Child Protective Investigations (CPI). Until CPI develops its own policy handbook, investigation policies and procedures will remain in the CPS handbook.

RCCI Notifying CPS of Alleged Abuse or Neglect in Foster Homes (PATS 13392)
This handbook revision adds the following requirements in the case of alleged abuse or neglect in a foster home:
- RCCI screener must notify both the on-call caseworker and on-call supervisor for the child’s legal region.
- The on-call worker and supervisor must follow specific procedures when receiving a Priority None (PN) outside normal work hours.
