Handbook Revision, March 1, 2022
These revisions of the Child Protective Services Handbook were published on March 1, 2022.
On September 1, 2017, the investigations branch of CPS became a separate division named Child Protective Investigations (CPI). Until CPI develops its own policy handbook, investigation policies and procedures will remain in the CPS handbook.

Rights of Children and Youth in Foster Care (PATS 13731)
This handbook revision updates policy about rights of children and youth in foster care. There have been functionality changes in IMPACT related to review dates for the Bill of Rights, as well as a new Foster Care Bill of Rights tab in OneCase. This policy update reflects these changes and what caseworkers’ responsibilities are related to the Bill of Rights. It also ensures proper tracking in meeting remedial orders from Foster Care Litigation.
