These revisions of the Child Protective Services Handbook were published on January 2, 2023.
On September 1, 2017, the investigations branch of CPS became a separate division named Child Protective Investigations (CPI). Until CPI develops its own policy handbook, investigation policies and procedures will remain in the CPS Handbook.

Education about Medical Care (PATS 13779)
Additional policy is being added to inform caseworkers to ensure youth age 16 and older are enrolled in STAR Health Service Management, if not receiving it, as well as planning for the youth to manage their medication needs after leaving foster care.

Extension of Placement in the Intensive Psychiatric Transition Program (PATS 13796)
This handbook revision updates the process for requesting an extension of a placement in the Intensive Psychiatric Transition Program (IPTP). The Youth for Tomorrow organization starts the process by recommending an extension, and then CPS State Office staff notifies and requests approval from the appropriate CPS staff.
