Assessing Family Violence Related Calls at Intake (PATS 10187)
This is new SWI policy created to comply with SB 434, 82nd regular session. The policy is rooted in the new Texas Administrative Code (TAC) and Texas Family Code (TFC) definitions to provide SWI staff with clear parameters for assessing abuse and neglect related to exposure to family violence. The policy also provides guidance on assigning roles once the criteria for abuse or neglect have been met. See:
