Handbook Revision, July 17, 2024
This revisions of the Child Protective Services Handbook was published on July 17, 2024.
On September 1, 2017, the investigations branch of CPS became a separate division named Child Protective Investigations (CPI). Until CPI develops its own policy handbook, investigation policies and procedures will remain in the CPS Handbook.

Housing Plan (PATS 14120)
This new section requires Preparation for Adult Living (PAL) staff to complete Form 2138 Housing Plan Template within 90 days of a youth turning 17 years old (or within 30 days if the youth enters conservatorship at 17).
The Housing Plan is then used for case planning and to support the youth’s successful transition to adulthood.
