Receiving and Responding to Requests for Public Information (DFPS Open Records) (PATS 00155)

Policy has been revised to bring it into compliance with House Bill 4219, 89th Texas Legislature, Regular Session. As part of this update, new language has been added to clarify the time frame in which the officer for public information must respond to a requestor. Specifically, the policy now includes the requirement for providing written notice within a defined number of business days from the date a request is received if no responsive records are found.

In addition to this change, several sections of the policy have been updated to improve clarity, streamline language, and ensure the procedures are easy to follow. These edits do not alter the intent of the policy but enhance its overall readability and alignment with current legal standards.
