Handbook Revision, March 2, 2026

This revision of the Child Protective Services Handbook was published on March 2, 2026.

On September 1, 2017, the investigations branch of CPS became a separate division named Child Protective Investigations (CPI). Until CPI develops its own policy handbook, investigation policies and procedures will remain in the CPS Handbook.

Education Stability and Decisions (PATS 14394/00095)

This handbook revision does the following:

  • Deletes 15110 The Role of the Caseworker in Ensuring Education Stability.
  • Adds policy requiring the caseworker to complete or update Form 2085E Designation of the Education Decision-Maker with current information at the beginning of each school year.
